Since founding BP Solutions Ian has continued to train leading hospital groups in Ireland in all aspects of Lean, as well as follow up mentoring to ensure key strategic objectives are achieved. He has also worked with Service sector clients, introducing Lean tools and strategies, and assisting clients on their Lean and Continuous Improvement journeys. Clients often benefit from the availability of business support funding from Local Enterprise Office’s, Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland.

Career Experience

Ian worked for TOYOTA Motor Corporation in the UK for 10 years and in his role as Support Services Manager he led a team that supported the 240+ motor dealerships’ computer systems. Since moving to Ireland, he has worked with a number of high-profile organisations such as AOL Europe and healthcare company RelateCare.

He worked for 5 years with AOL as senior process improvement manager responsible for a team of process managers, analysts, and specialists across multiple contact centres in the UK and Ireland. Ian was a key member of the AOL European ‘Continuous Business Process Improvements’ (CBPI) using Lean, Six Sigma and CBPI methodologies to share best practice and deliver and track process improvements at a European level.

Most recently Ian worked for 8 years with healthcare company RelateCare. In his role as Group Continuous Improvement and Workforce Utilization Director he played a leading role as Relate Care expanded from 5 employees in 2014 to over 1500 today. Responsibilities included the Continuous Improvement team, Workforce Management and Quality teams both here in Ireland and the Cleveland, Ohio offices. Across the group he delivered a Lean transformation Continuous Improvement programme that encompassed the entire RelateCare and Rigneydolphin workforce in the implementation of Lean practice and methodology. Ian utilised and honed his skills in continuous improvement focusing on enhancing efficiencies and patient/customer experience in internationally renowned hospital groups as well as prominent utility, public sector, telecoms and service sector organisations in Ireland. He worked on all client campaigns, identifying best practice policies and procedures, standardised work and opportunities for process optimisation, often for JCI compliance here in Ireland and NAHAM in the US. A key figure in driving success in campaigns for clients in Ireland and worldwide, he has worked with 7 of the top 20 hospitals in the United States with the flagship being ‘The Cleveland Clinic’ in Ohio.

Qualifications

Ian holds a Masters in Lean (Honours) with Lean Black Belt; Higher Diploma (Honours) in Business in Management; BS5750/ISO9001 in Quality Management; Six Sigma Green Belt; and he is a long-standing Lean Service Provider with Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland
