Ian Gourlay is a committee member of the South East Lean Network (SELN)

Ian is an active member of the national community of learning and practice in Lean and CI, and is a committee member of the South East Lean Network (SELN) – Ireland’s first and longest-running regional Lean network. Ian has spoken at various Lean Business Ireland (LBI) events and facilitated the People, Culture, Leadership track at the LBI Annual Enterprise Excellence Conference 2023 held at SETU Arena.

South-East Lean Network

SELN is an open and free forum and networking group that brings together individuals and public and private organisations of all scales and sizes from across all manufacturing and services sectors to exchange knowledge and learning, provide peer support, facilitate site visits and Gemba walks, and host in-person and online seminars/webinars.

Objectives and Activities of the Lean Network:

  • Facilitate and brokers one-to-one, or one-to-many, focused mentoring and tutorial sessions.
  • Provide a forum for industry stakeholder engagement and collaboration which informs programme and module development, plus research, within and from the Academy of Lean Enterprise Excellence at SETU RIKON Research Centre.
  • Provide a forum for industry engagement and collaboration regarding course and service offerings involving Lean Service Providers, SETU, Regional Skills Forum, Skillnets, Chambers of Commerce, and Education Training Boards.
  • Facilitates alignment amongst and between all relevant stakeholders: Multinationals, SMEs, and Micro-Enterprises, Enterprise Ireland, IDA Ireland, and Lean Business Ireland, Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs), Education Training Boards (ETBs), Regional Skills Forum, Skillnets, Chambers of Commerce, Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), Lean Service Providers (Trainers & Consultants), Lean Construction Ireland (LCi), Construction Industry Federation (CIF), Irish Centre for Business Excellence (ICBE), Irish Business & Employers Confederation (IBEC).
